When I think something is bad, immoral, unethical, harmful, evil - or whatever may apply - I neither do it in private or in public. I don’t just adhere to this rule of not doing it when I’m by myself, I also don’t do it when I’m with others, regardless of whether they might do that thing and would think it’s more comfortable for them when I partake as well. That’s what’s at the core of living within my own moral boundaries and values. Yes, it might be difficult at times or offend people, but at least I neither feel like a hypocrite nor a coward. I stay true to myself and my behavior aligns with what I expect from myself and how I wish others lived. I cannot force anything they don’t want on them, but I can lead by example and enforce my own boundaries. Do what you want, but I will not do it.
