Posting ATCs

I made a page on Mythical Type for art I attach the Mythical Type name to. So far, that’s artist trading cards (ATCs). I’ll post cards to Mythical Type and ATCdex, a site specifically for trading ATCs. Here’s the thing, though. When hashtags on Instagram still worked as a way to connect art, I could have posted ATCs there and used hashtags. People would have found my cards, and I would have used hashtags to find people to trade with. (This is exactly what I did years ago when I started trading zines.) No need to create new webpages or sign up for new platforms that serve one purpose. But hashtags don’t work like that on Instagram anymore. It’s hard to discover people who are posting the same kinds of things as you. So now we branch out to other platforms. It’s not bad, necessarily, but it’s different.
