I hadn't realized how much I was missing having new Jake Kaufman music in my life. I've played every mainline Shovel Knight game to completion, but the last time I played one was in 2020. When I first launched Mina the Hollower and heard this dude's bangin' tunes come out, it fucking hit. I've been playing Mina since it launched 2 weeks ago, and it absolutely rips. They did it again. I always figured that the folks who made Shovel Knight would make a *good* game, but I didn't expect to become so engrossed by it. In the lead-up to Mina's release, I went through a sort of roller coaster of interest. I started very excited for it, then kind of forgot about it for a long time, then felt sort of "eh, yeah, I'll probably play it" whenever news would pop up, and then right before release started to feel like it could actually be really special.
