The quote that stuck with me this week is: “Have a long-term vision, but a short-term focus.” When I first heard it, it felt like I had found a holy grail. Like this was the key that could unlock all the doors. It made me feel incredibly motivated. I think this quote can truly be a great life motto. But first, you need to answer some pretty big questions to make it effective. The first important question is: What is my long-term vision? Personally, the closest answer I have come to is that I want to start my own business. What kind of business? Nobody knows yet. Maybe something connected to my serious hobbies. Maybe not. Then I started thinking very generally about my short-term focus. I began reading business books. Since communication is also very important in business, that became another skill I want to improve.
