Neighborhood at Dusk – Havana, Cuba We are finally very close to the end of this extensive Cuba series. I shot the neighborhood just south of the Casa on the last evening, near dusk. The mix of colors and textures makes it feel more dimensional than the pictures I shot during the daytime. When I first got to Havana, I mainly went north and west of the Casa. That’s where the tourist attractions were, and those areas looked cleaner and less scary. However, after nearly a week, my scope of exploration expanded. The waterfront and Almacenes San Jose are to the south. I walked through this area on my way to those destinations. From what I heard, Havana is generally safe, especially in and around where I stayed. I also busted out a lens that I haven’t used since the beginning of the trip. Like the TTartisan, which I used to make shallow-depth-of-field photos, the Samyang 35mm f2.8 stayed mostly in the bag. Its advantage? At the time, it was the smallest autofocusing lens for the Sony…
