I know we’ve all done it, lying there stressed about things. Work stuff, decisions, whatever it may be. I also know I’m not alone in going to the worst case scenario. What’s the worst that could happen? Revelling in the doom and picturing the least optimal outcomes. I don’t go in for self help stuff mostly. I’ve done CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and found that it was basically gaslighting myself. One small sentence I read one time by chance did make a difference though. It just said “instead of picturing the worst case scenario, just try picturing the best possible outcome of a situation instead”. It doesn’t work all the time, I’m not immune to stress but I try it when I can and it has really helped. I did it last night and it helped me get to sleep. Then I had a dream I was a Green Lantern.
