As someone with a couple too many hours in Hearts of Iron IV, here are my thoughts on what the sequel should be. What I don't want Pops, markets and consumption Paradox has added consumables markets to all of their latest games, and unlike alot of loud voices, I don't disagree with that turn. Trade is a huge driver of history, and in previous entries it was mostly abstracted due to architectual (and performance!) reasons. Back in EU IV, trade was just the abstract movement of money between nodes However, the trade of toasters didn't have much impact on the second world war, atleast not in the same way the tar trade had in the age of sail. The United Kingdom probably didn't care too much about not being able to import radios from Poland after it fell, unlike how it cared about being able to import tar from the baltic when Sweden and Russia went to war in the 1600's. Resources should continue to be abstracted in the sequal, to allow more focus on other parts of the game. National…
