I have spent approximately 45 minutes collectively on the computer since April 20th of this year. Writing this post will be representative of a majority of that time. This is a stark contrast to my normal behavior. If I wasn't sleeping or at work, there was a 95% chance I was sitting at the computer doing "computer shit". Well my life has improved by an immeasurable amount since late April. Time moves slower, you recognize strange details about life that you simply missed cos you were too busy cutting corners to get "back to the desk". Despite my formal training in "IT", none of my technical obligations were professional. I've always just been something of an odd tinkerer, playing with this technology and that, just to see what they did. Like so many others, I was convinced that it was Social Media that was destroying the fabric of society, but now I'm starting to think that it's just the internet in and of itself.
