Our local car club returned to the track1 yesterday for our fourth2 autocross of the year. The weather was quite warm, though a steady breeze and some welcome cloud cover in the afternoon kept it from being terribly uncomfortable. We had a number of new faces joining us, either first-time autocrossers or experiences racers visiting from other regions. We got to race on a tight and twisty course that wound up flowing a lot better than I'd anticipated based on my morning course walks. It was a fun course to drive, and I really wish we'd gotten more than six runs. I managed to get down to a 40.903s on my last run. I was pleased with that since I'd been struggling to get out of the 41s all day, but it still wasn't a super competitive time. (Also, my datalogger acted up so here's the raw video with no pretty overlays.) I finished 2nd (of 2) in the Solo Spec Coupe class (down by 1.6 seconds - an eternity), and 33rd of 115 in PAX. (The SSC winner finished 7th PAX. Dude is quick.) Parking lot…
