Last week, my friend shared with me a story of travel woe brought on by very divergent travelling personalities, which got me thinking about my own travel style and experiences. I would consider myself a fairly laid-back traveller. People who know how organised I am in daily life are often surprised that my holiday planning process, more often than not, stops once I get my flights and hotel booked. I’m a “get to the destination and wing it” kind of person. If there are big rocks I need to place like booking tickets to a popular attraction, play or concert, I’ll sort those out promptly in advance, but otherwise I usually show up then decide what to do. I don’t actually do a ton of research about places before going.
