Review by Sandre the Giant Released: 27th March 2026 I feel like you’ve got to have a listen to a band called Melting Rot don’t you? I mean, you don’t really get band names as good as that very often these days. These Illinois grinders are onto their second full length record, ‘Infatuation With Premeditation’, out now through Hells Headbangers but it is my first experience with them. Great band name, gnarly album art, coming out on HH? I’m all in. I was right to think this would be good, but that guitar tone is even crunchier than I thought it would be, ripping out of the gate with the chuggy ‘Short-Term Memory, Long-Term Decomposition’ before it explodes into sinew severing grind brutality. There’s plenty of death metal influence in here as well, with the slower thunder of ‘Blinded Beaten Stabbed’ and the Discharge-but-deathgrind of ‘Morbid Infatuation’, but this is mostly done at high speed and even higher levels of violence.
