I wanted to put my regained attention span to a test: can I, once again, watch complex films? All three Godfather films, played night after night looked like the perfect choice. Those are the most famous films of all time, often called crowning achievement of the form. Long (between 3 and 3,5 hours long each), slow, masterfully done. I fully agree with that assessment for the first two movies. My favorite scene comes around midway of the first one. Michael, shortly after an attack on his father, takes part in a council with his family. Initially he is in the background, just sitting in a chair. We already notice that he has changed - his eyes are calmer, devoid of any emotion. But the action takes part next to him, he is part of the Corleone family, but he is also an outsider - a civilian in the mafia world. Suddenly he starts talking and we immediately see that everything about how he looks now is full of power. No unnecessary muscle movement, he owns the room now. As he talks…
