Every two years, ElectroneX is held in Sydney. Every two years, I attend. It’s like a pilgrimage to a spiritual home for those working in electronics, as it is our local expo. We’re not quite fortunate to have the gigantic shows like Maker Faire or electronica in this corner of the world, but regardless, it is always a nice meeting of friends – new, old and yet-to-be. On the “Road” Day one was a Wednesday, a hump day. But rather than facing a hump, it was smooth sailing (at least, figuratively speaking) as this year, the Parramatta Light Rail (L3) was operational. It had been operational for a while and I’ve only had a few reasons to catch it, but today, this train was a bit of an odd one. The digital passenger information displays were all blank on this train, from front to back! Something else may also have been up as the driver was turning their head at every stop, looking down the length of the train before closing the doors. I wonder if the internal network that ran all of this…
