In any case, this is a slightly lighter update; most of the music events happened either really early or really late into the month, and I didn't actually get to spend as much time with tunes during that big middle period. But we make do what we have. New Music Immediate ImpressionsMay didn't actually have all that much new music. Or it did, but I just somewhat lost touch of it a bit. So this month's impressions list is going to be rather short. Boards of Canada - Inferno But at least I've spent time with the hottest drop of the month. It's wild how BoC have become such a genuinely gigantic thing and the album's release date felt like a genuine pop culture Event - not bad for an ambient act. Inferno, I think, is worth the long waiting period - it's a really striking, beautiful piece of work. Each BoC album has a very specific mood to it and the angle they've chosen for Inferno is something close to distressing and apocalyptic at times. It's…
