Sunday Asides #98 It's Pride month, and it's felt pretty muted so far this year. Events are drying up since corporations are cutting sponsorship, some states have been trying to proclaim June as "Nuclear Family Month" or "Strong Families Month," and support for LGBTQ+ issues is dropping. Let's hope things improve as the month goes on! We're about a week away from the World Cup matches here in Atlanta, and the city is not ready. Highways still have massive construction on the weekends, there's been a slew of stabbings (and a murder!) on MARTA, and those new trains people have been raving about? They haven't passed safety tests yet. Good luck to everyone involved, I guess, because this is a slow-motion shit show waiting to happen. Let's at least hope it doesn't rain and flood again!
