Guardians of Order was a small Canadian RPG publisher founded in the early 2000s. Its flagship product was Big Eyes, Small Mouth, an extremely early 2000s western interpretation of anime. When that book became a hit, they started up buying anime licenses, making games based on series like Sailor Moon and Tenchi Muyo. But one of the strangest things they ever did was let someone write a supplement adapting BESM into a game designed for Rescue Rangers-style talking animal adventures called Big Ears, Small Mouse. BESMouse is needlessly complex, there was little if any demand for it, and it systematically denies the existence of amphibians. I wrote about it for 1-900 Hot Dog. The post Big Ears, Small Mouse appeared first on Other Strangeness — merritt k.
