The Scherian national fencing team is being sent on a Grand Tour to Permia, because diplomacy. Once they assemble one that is. Enjoyable addition to the Parkerland universe even though it dragged a bit at times. Lots of fencing/swordplay bits. A lamentable lack of my favourite Parker trope, the overly clever, shifty narrator. However, as Parker added plenty of characters to be suspicious of, it’s not blithely straightforward either. Lots of politics, most of which is used to give the fencers a good kicking. ★★★☆☆
