I don’t know what it is, but I don’t like taking pictures with a smartphone. Every few years, whenever I get a new phone, I try using the (latest and greatest™) camera to take photos, but I’ve never warmed up to it. The physical act of framing and taking images with a phone just does not feel right. I know I am in a dwindling minority here. Humanity loves taking photos like this. But I don’t. Also, taking my proper camera everywhere doesn’t bother me in the slightest – to the contrary: I feel naked if I don’t have it on me! People I follow online use all kinds of nifty photography apps with analog looking filters and the like, and the apps look cool, and the photos coming out of them look really good. It’s just not for me. If I had to choose between only using a phone or a camera for the rest of my life, there wouldn’t be any hesitation. I’d go with camera in a heartbeat. Life would suck without a phone, but it would suck even more without a camera. I want a viewfinder – optical if…
