I bought an ASRock Rack W880D4U motherboard (along with an Intel Core Ultra 5 245K CPU) back in November to upgrade my self-built NAS. And they’ve been sitting in their boxes since because I had no DDR5 ECC RAM to go along with them. Getting RAM, slowly I had ordered two sticks of Kingston 48GB 5600MT/s DDR5 ECC RAM from Amazon at the palatable price of £230 each. Sadly, they never materialised – Amazon cancelled my order after six months due to ‘a lack of availability’. The same RAM now costs £1,573.60 a stick on one UK site selling it and £2,262.36 a stick on the only other UK site I can find. I got on the chat with Amazon and asked if there was anything they could do (mentioning the fact that the price of the RAM had increased significantly). They said they would offer a ‘price honor’ (their spelling) and, if I bought the same item from another seller on Amazon.co.uk, they would refund the difference.
