I was watching a Youtube channel that I actually really like that in-depth covers drama especially in the bookish realm. I was watching one of their videos specifically about someone who had lied about their disability status to gain access to a very small and insular world and get a pretty plum position within it. That's when one of the hosts offhandedly mentioned something about how "every resume for these positions are bisexual women with a mental illness," making clear that their position on this is that there are a lot of fakers out there like the subject of their video. I sat there for a moment, feeling a pit in my stomach form and then get bigger and bigger as the dismissal and accusation of being 'that type' grew in my brain.
