We had a joke at my place of work years ago when Google Fiber was installing that “Hashtag Fiber Is Coming… again” because a random subcontractor showed up every day or two for nearly two years and nobody could be bothered to call. It also helped that Google spent a whole lot of money on some extremely clutch T-shirts back in 2015 that said #fiberiscoming. Today was not GFiber’s subcontractors, but it amused me greatly that even after GFiber’s finished their business random contractors are going to be showing up at your door. I got a knock and doorbell at a little after 7am today and this was from what I believe was a Metro Nashville employee who asked if I could move a car because “Google messed up the road and we have to fix it.” I moved my wife’s car into the driveway, and took off for work shortly after wondering how they were going to fix a decent looking trench & replace job.
