No matter what I do, I sound like myself. And I think that's a positive? What comes out is gonna come out. So I try to make this more modern-sounding house, and old school house comes out. Specifically, very minimal kind of stuff. When I unfold one of these modern projects, some with almost 100 tracks, the eyes roll unto the back of my head. Rarely am I doing anything with more than 10 tracks. It's always very basic. It's not something I really question, it's just how things look to me and how they work, and that's kind of the deal. And I think that has been an important, ongoing lesson. If I'm trying to learn something and it's not working, just accept that it's not working, but still finish the track. And finishing the track usually ends up with something that sounds like something I do.
