I was sent a pair of Nocs Field Issue 8×32 binoculars and a smartphone adapter with the promise of giving my smartphone a much much better optical zoom. We’re doing a hit and miss review here, which let’s just start with that the binoculars now have a permanent seat in my car, but the adapter is not as universal as it thought it was. Nocs is most likely short for binoculars. I’m just guessing here. tl;dr – split review focusing mainly on the tech adapter gadget part as we’re a tech gadget blog. So in rare Pocketables form let’s start with the good – these binoculars held up to my kids each dropping them for wildly inane reasons, and that’s due to the very neat rubberized housing. They bounce. I’m not sure how many tests I want to do of them bouncing but they survived twice and phew. Easy to use, good grip feels nice, and they’re small and easy to move. Now we’ll get to what really interested me and that’s a separate product they sell with the the ability to mount the Nocs Field Issue…
