sometimes, it feels like the internet and nerd culture are trying to get a rise out of you, aren't they? how else are you supposed to react to constant advertisements, online scammers, subscription services, and video games, comic books, and toys being marked up in price and sold as "collectables" rather than entertainment? well, if i've learned anything this year, it's that there is nothing better than supporting your local library. so heed my advice: if your town has a public library, and becoming a member is free, please become one. do it even if it isn't free, honestly. the library is the last bastion of getting your entertainment fix without the expectation of spending money. it could be a gateway into trying out a new book series you've heard is really good. you may even find a DVD/blu-ray copy of that movie you've always wanted to watch. or even one you haven't seen yet, but it looks like it'd be fun! it'll hopefully provide you with information and guides in your work or…
