I remember when we’ve flown to Taiwan, when they ask what you want to eat, they’ll go up and down the aisles and say ‘pork porridge?’ I’ll admit, I usually got pork porridge. It was kinda funny. Anyways, found this one at Evergreen Asian Market in Everett, Washington. Let’s cook. Mei Wei Pork Congee Rice Porridge – United States Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains fish. To prepare, add everything in and boiling water to line. Cover 5 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy! Detail of the lid (click to enlarge). The rice! Seasoning base. Bits of pork. Finished (click to enlarge). Added chashu, sesame seed, and scallion. This was excellent – the broth and rice was hot and hearty. The broth was very savory and the bits of pork very tasty. Really enthused. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars for a non-ramen. UPC bar code 748229953515. Amazon – they make tom yum base as well Watch me cook on Instant Noodle Recipe Time!
