I haven’t posted anything in my ‘Everyday Windows annoyances’ series of posts for a while. But that’s mainly due to my laziness rather than a lack of irritations in Windows 11. One thing that’s bothered me for a while is the lack of consistency of font sizes in Windows 11. Here’s a screenshot of File Explorer (at a display scale of 175%), as an example: They could also make all those directories use consistent capitalisation Text in the drop-down list opened from the breadcrumbs bar is noticeably larger than text in the main items area. It wasn’t always like this. Here’s a screenshot of the same thing in Windows 10: It’s also notable that much more fits in the same space here While the dark theming is more inconsistent there, font sizes are pleasingly consistent. And the same drop-down list opened from the breadcrumbs bar is far more usable as a more reasonable number of items can be seen at once.
