I started my day with news surrounding Martin Scorsese's endorsement of AI and how he's going to utilize it in the "storyboard" process. Funny enough, Scorsese was one of the few directors who were very vocal about their artistic issues with Marvel and its antics, calling it out for not making "cinema" but "amusement parks." However, it seems Scorsese himself doesn't have much issue with not making cinema and making "slops" this deep into his career, and honestly, this is a sad ending for one of the greatest directors. James Cameron and Peter Jackson also had similar statements in the last couple of months, which made me respect Guillermo Del Toro's wild comment in the Cannes Film Festival even more. After all, "art can't be done with a fucking app," and hiding behind causes like "pre-production costs money," as Scorsese explained his recent partnership with Black Forest Labs, when there are films out there selling hundreds of millions on a 750k dollars budget, is just ridiculous.
