Review by Sandre the Giant Released: 3rd April 2026 Lithuanian black metallers Sisyphean may be familiar to Killchain readers over the years, as we reviewed their stunning ‘Colours of Faith’ record from 2022 here, and they are now back with a new record. ‘Divergence’ is out now through Edged Circle Productions and looks to push even deeper into the atmospheric, dissonant territories that ‘Colours of Faith’ delved into. If this is as good as ‘Colours of Faith’, then we could be in for a real treat here. After the sinister, angular intro track ‘The Tower’, with its spoken incantations that provides an unsettling place for Sisyphean to begin this journey, ‘A Point in the Abyss’ takes us into spiralling realms of gloomy, discordant darkness. The whole record ripples with an unseen power, looming in the void behind the disjointed melodies of ‘Occultation’ and the otherworldly groan of ‘In Divergence’. This is a very particular sort of black metal, the Deathspell Omega and Blut Aus Nord…
