May was full of surprises and a few of the usual suspects. I feature a car here when it is/could be more than 20 model years old and I found it parked on the street or in a lot, but not in a car show. Here now, the cars. 1968 Pontiac Firebird. Spotted at the soul-food joint near my home, this Firebird came out to play on the very last day of the month. I love that it’s green, and I love that it looks stock. At the soul-food joint I always order the fried chicken with greens and mashed potatoes — and add a fried catfish filet. Every time. 1974-85 Mercedes-Benz 280SL. I’ve spotted a few of these over the years, and it’s always a pleasure. I spotted this one in a parking garage in Carmel. 1984-96 Chevrolet Corvette. Spotted in Angola, Indiana. I’m sure there’s someone out there who can date this more precisely than me, but I decided not to go down that rabbit hole. 1985-91 Chevrolet C/K. This one has been debadged enough that I have no idea whether it’s a 1500, 2500, or 3500. Spotted on…
