The first recording today is Pokemon: Battle Frontier – New Plot, Odd Lot. The gang have come to Mulberry City so that May can compete in her fifth tournament and win her fifth badge. But she has a visitor – Harley – who shows off his five badges and definitely seems like he’s her nemesis. Team Rocket are there too, and Jessie wants to use Meowth as her Pokemon in the competition just so he can tell jokes. This competition isn’t about battling it’s about showing off cool moves and skills. And I guess a stand-up Pokemon is somewhat unique. But Harley appears, and offers to lend Jessie his pokemon to help her win, because he doesn’t want May to win. We learn that Harley has a tragic back story – in his mind. When he was young, and at school, a little girl ate his last snackie. “And that girl looked exactly like May. Now, when I see her, it’s like I’m in school all over again.
