I’ve had gigabit fiber at my house from AT&T since 2017, and other than a problem with an old modem and the network being down for about a week when the Nashville bomber damaged destroyed Second Ave I’ve really had few complaints. The service appeared good, I did my things, moved a *lot* of data, had no complaints at $80 a month. For 18 months it was $80 a month and then it was 85 a month in 2019 where it held until 2023 when it went to $90, then $100 in 2024, then $105 later in the year, then $110 three months later. Eight months later it was $115, five months after that $120. A 50% price increase over eight years during which inflation was 35% and the gig service they were providing became less and less expensive to provide. I don’t trust GFiber, but I’m also to the point I’ll just wi-fi hotspot until I can grab a T-Mobile home internet puck if it goes down. Considering my proximity from their nearest hub (500 feet or less,) I’m seriously hoping to not deal with the GFiber incidents…
