I can stare out this window for hours. I'm not even looking at anything. The stars and occasional propulsion jet are the perfect backdrop for thinking and the occasional good idea. I'm supposed to be working, but when the big ships dock, I like to lean my head against the window supports and feel the vibrations that would otherwise go unnoticed flow through me. I am the warm recirculated air of the station. I can get my compliance reports done in the last hour of my shift usually, which is when I send them in. Shah must know it doesn't take me all day, but he never says anything. The real problem is that I don't make use of the time. As beautiful as the local star cluster is, my time spent in stasis and vacant half-focus is truly wasted. I could be doing a number of things---things that I tell myself I truly want to, that are important. But I don't. At first, coming to Bennu was the entire goal.
