Egg salad has been with the Tribunal since nearly the beginning. In our in our Month of Breakfast Sandwiches from January of 2015 I made an egg salad sandwich with deviled ham for one of those breakfasts. Not too long after that, egg and cress–a British type of egg salad–was one of the sandwiches we tried while exploring the food crimes that British Rail sold as sandwiches. When we tackled the egg sandwich, a simple egg salad sandwich was my first thought–only to be outdone by Dennis Lee’s version using balut. We struggled through the horrifying sandwich loaf of Minnesota and its array of fillings, including egg salad. Better was the Arnold Palmer sandwich with its 2 layers, half egg salad, half tuna salad. Most recently, we made a version of the Nutritious Sandwich of Taiwan using egg salad dressed with cucumber slices, lettuce, and mayonnaise. But is there a page on this site dedicated to the egg salad sandwich? I regret to say that there has not been, until today. Maybe in part…
