Imagine a pub. It’s a single rectangular room, but considerably bigger than that makes it sound. The ceiling, supported by iron pillars, is high; the long side of the pub is long enough for the two ends of the room to feel like completely different areas, even though there are no dividers in between and the furniture is exactly the same. There is in fact padded moquette bench seating running round three sides of the room, in a subdued shade of greyish green. There are square and rectangular tables made of dark wood, with additional dark wood chairs facing the moquette bench. There are also a number of smaller, round tables with hammered brass tops; around these are stools with padded dark green leather seats. The decor is fairly plain. The walls and ceiling are white, while the floor is of bare boards in a dark varnish, except for a small area in front of the bar, which is tiled in a black and white pattern.
