Scribed by Sandre the Giant Released: 5th May 2006 When you’re one of the world’s biggest rock bands, coming off the back of a highly acclaimed record and ready to get more music out there, what is your plan of action? Double album? That sounds like an ambitious project, especially for a band prone to a bad song or two on even their best records. But enough about the Foo Fighters in the early 2000s, what about the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Well, turns out they were gonna do the exact same thing with ‘Stadium Arcadium’ in 2006. There’s a lot to get into on this record, from the whole ‘Dani California’/Tom Petty thing to the departure of John Frusciante after touring this record, but we’ve got plenty of time to get to it all, what with the two discs and over two hours of music. I can remember getting into the Chili Peppers for the first time when I heard ‘Fight Like a Brave’ on a Tony Hawk soundtrack (it is really odd how often it comes back to those Pro Skater soundtracks for my music…
