Over a decade ago Google Fiber posted a map telling me that Fiber Was Coming. Yesterday, GFiber, the division in its current form, turned up service at my house in an unexpected expedited fashion. April 16th GFiber subcontractors hit my neighborhood with a vengeance trenching the street and installing an access box between every other house. May 18th I got a door notice that my service was back up. I went ahead and contacted GFiber about that and was put on a new list as evidently I was no longer on the decade-old list. May 25th I got the ability to sign up for them, and had an install date of June 6. Two days ago someone at GFiber saw a post of mine and contacted me, we talked one day ago in the morning about the things that had been done wrong in the deployment for the neighborhood, some of the oddities, and what it would take to make my install right as well as some feedback about what they needed to do ongoing… such as not sending contractors out to install large boxes on the…
