When I moved into my first studio apartment 8 years ago, it didn’t have a microwave and I decided I would just live without it. BUT, my one of my favorite salty snacks is popcorn (because I have been lucky to have pets who do not care for popcorn). So I learned how to make stove top popcorn. And now I only make it that way. I once mentioned it to my coworkers and got hard roasted b/c of how bougie it sounded. I've been thinking about this because I finally made a batch to share with my friends for our D&D session last night. The recipe/method is easy: Measure kernels (I used to eyeball, but now I like making anywhere from 40g-65g at a time) Use a neutral high heat oil (I’m using Avocado oil these days). I also use a stainless steel pot and medium heat. Start w/ 3 kernels. Once all 3 kernels pop the oil is ready. Take the popcorn out.
