I spent a good two-three hours wandering around the local reservoir with my daughter this afternoon and I think she may have become my wildlife lucky charm. She helped me spot a greater variety of wildlife than I'd seen on my last few solo visits, and she really loves to add more birds to her own lifetime collection. I think our joint favourite might be the Song Thrush. They almost sound tropical to my ears, like something you would hear in the jungle. Having never really heard these before (well, before I really paid any attention I should say) I find their song one of my favourites to listen to. Amazingly I even managed to get a decent shot of one today. I think this next image might be my favourite from today. I only realised when I was editing the image that this is probably a young Great Tit, it looks much softer and fluffier than all the others I've previously seen.
