It’s the beginning of tick season in Nebraska. Today I learned that the Lone Star Tick may cause alpha-gal syndrome, a sudden allergy to meat. Symptoms range from stomach pains all the way to anaphylaxis. The Lone Star Tick has migrated westward and is considered established in my county (and others) in Nebraska. What horrid little creatures.
