Sunday Asides #94 Man, I have been working this week. Two part-time jobs, a new gig job I started back on May 1, and I’m still applying to places so I can land a full-time role at a company somewhere. I’m running off caffeine and vibes, but I am TIRED. Employers, please stop asking job applicants to be passionate about your company and your product. Tens of thousands of people are out of work -- they're passionate about earning money so they can pay their bills, put food on the table, and keep a roof over their heads. Asking them for all this performative extra bullshit is demeaning and sadistic. This week, in the final season of the United States of America, gas is now 50% more expensive in the U.S. than it was before the Iran war, there are growing fears of a global hantavirus outbreak, the U.S. debt has now exceeded our GDP for the first time since World War II, and evangelical leaders in Florida have blessed “Don Colossus” -- a 22-foot golden statue of Trump.
