Recently, I've been blowing bubbles at work while on break. I sit in this sweet little park outside my office building, and blow bubbles to de-stress. Of course, children react positively -- they smile at me and try to pop the bubbles, or light up when they see my bubble wand. Most adults ignore me, but some are intrigued and they'll say something nice. Sometimes they'll smile or have a 'I didn't know you could do that!' look. I was talking to two coworkers of mine, and they were saying things along the lines of "oh, it would be weird for middle aged ladies to blow bubbles in the park", but fine for me to do it because I'm young. It makes me sad, the way playing as an adult is stigmatized. It would do you a world of good to blow some bubbles. reply via email
