I caved and spent the $32 fucking dollars to have 24 hours of internet access in the middle of our 10 straight days at sea. I might as well post about it. Unfortunately, all I have are the ramblings I’ve written in my journal during my voyage. So I suppose I’ll transcribe those and clean them up a bit. Day One Leaving Port Miami was strangely anticlimactic. I waved goodbye at the land strangers like you do. Like everyone do. And I watched as we slowly distanced ourself from the city, but at a certain point I got distracted by exploring the ship and didn’t pay attention to the shrinking coastline. The next thing I know, we’re out on the open water and everything was gone. It wasn’t until a few hours later when the reality of being out on the ocean truly hit me. I noticed my anxiety slowly dialing up with each gentle rock of the ship. It continued to swell throughout the evening, reaching a fever pitch as I sat down at the steakhouse for dinner.
