I sometimes hear people my age (I'm 55) talk about tech and the younger generation. Not just the usual conversations about social media and doomscrolling bringing civilization to its knees. Yes, they talk about that too, but so do kids half their age. I mean the everyday use of modern technology. Digital communication, sharing, payments, bookings, starting a blog. They say things like, "It all comes naturally to them. They grew up with the internet and all this stuff." And it's true, of course. I'm sure someone half my age could put together some of my little lab projects in half the time. Just like I could probably parallel park in half the time. But when it comes to technology, I wouldn't trade my boomer perspective for anything. I love having been born in a time when paying the tab with your watch belonged in science fiction. To me, it all still feels like sci-fi. Taking a photo with my phone. Amazing! Having that photo instantly appear on my laptop the second I open the lid.…
