Whenever I visit a new country solo, my mind always thinks about the logistics of getting from “A” to “B”. As I rarely want to bother anyone and I prefer to be economical, I usually focus on my own two feet (and legs), as well as public transport. To that end, coming to London is a blessing as an engineer, as the London Tube is famous for being the blueprint for metro systems all around the world, a demonstration of the viability of constructing deep-level tunnels using a shield. Pre-dating electric traction, the architecture of stations has also been said to be noteworthy in some way. But there are other marvels in London to absorb too. What follows is perhaps the most image-heavy travel post I’ve made so far. I’ll be noting down my observations – good and bad.
