Although I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school for all of my childhood it is not something I ever embraced. For most of my life I would have described myself as an atheist and religion has not played any real part in my life. We all know the damage that organised religion has done to the world. However, when I was in college around 17 or 18 years old I randomly stumbled onto a documentary about Buddhism. I was aware of it of course but never really knew the details or ins and outs of it. I found it really interesting and intriguing which led to me to seek out and more and more information. I bought plenty of books, downloaded audiobooks and did a lot of online reading too. I really like what it teaches and it resonated with me deeply, though I never fully embraced it at the time. One of the issues I had was with meditation.
