LLMs, neural networks, and other machine learning techniques of today are not AI. I do my best to avoid calling them that. For something to be truly AI it must be a non-biological man-made organism that has intelligence and consciousness akin to an animal or human. A large data model is not that, and never will be. The set of technologies that people are calling “AI” do have appropriate and ethical use cases. This all exploded when Google built a system to win at the game of Go. Nothing wrong with that. There’s also nothing wrong with something like Photoshop’s automatic subject detection. That is just a tool that saves humans the toil of having to use the pen tool to make selections.
