When Tim Cook took over from Steve Jobs nobody expected Apple to rise as it did during his 14-year tenure at the helm. I think he did a tremendous job on the whole. There were some low points, like maps and liquid glass, but Cook’s background as a supply chain guy showed in every success: it helped grow the company into a behemoth, it helped greatly in realising Apple's lofty goals towards environmental friendliness, it ensured Apple’s foray into services was a success and that major transitions like Apple Silicon and Rosetta 2 went to plan, all without unnecessary fanfare. Cook’s own sexuality played a huge role in empowering others and indirectly strengthened the company’s efforts towards upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion so that they could withstand Trump’s second term even as their peers caved to the fascist’s dands.
