Audio Another of the recent seasonally themed boxsets, this time about my birthday. In The Bramble King, the Eighth Doctor receives a psychic vision of a forest whilst out at the cinema with Audacity and chases it to a ship carrying an unusual cargo. Forests and imperiled spaceships have somehow become the grand narrative of this corner of the range in the past couple of years, so it's unsurprising to finally have the two mixed together—even to the point that the crew is an arboreally influenced life form. It's fine. Like base-under-siege stories, ship-in-peril narratives usually follow the structure of the Doctor landing and being treated suspiciously before showing that he's there to help, working out what's causing the problem, and fixing it. Actually, come to think of it, that's most Doctor Who stories. But my point is you sometimes have to tell stories that adhere to expectations so that the more unusual examples stand out.Placement: Charley is mentioned as resting in Baker…
