DirectorRon Howard Year2001 Score2 This one was on the radar because it was described as the greatest film ever by one of my professors. I wouldn’t go that far but it was decent. Definitely one that falls into the too long and could do with being tightened up a bit camp. I don’t know what John Nash was like in real life, but the film didn’t portray him as the most likeable person ever, which i think is a bit of a shame. Even if he was unlikeable, it doesn’t make for the best viewing, and enough of the rest of the film was made up that they probably could have made him nicer. The other thing that stood out was the students making fun of him when he went back to the university. Bullying exists, but is it ever that blatant? I’ve never seen that out in the wild. It felt kind of lazy. Putting aside some of the less good decisions in the script, the film is a good time that goes on a little bit too long.
