I've always been a gamer, from getting Super Mario 64 on the N64 and had to be pulled off it to go and eat Christmas dinner, to getting gifted Pokemon Silver just before we went to my cousin's wedding and trying to talk my parents into leaving early so I could play it. I don't get to play as much now and partly that's because of life, but also because there's very few games I actively want to play because they either require money or time... It no longer feels like I can 'hop on' for a quick game, or just blast through a level (or a gym) and while having these enormous games full of 'stuff to do' is cool and my younger self would have been so overwhelmed with excitement, the older me is wondering if we'll see the return of games that aren't quite as 'big' but instead have an truly engaging story.
